Storing Incense
We recommend that you store your incense in an airtight glass container. Loose incense will absorb odors that are in the air around it, so you donUt want to store incense in plastic unless you want it to smell like plastic. Further, incense will slowly bleed its scent out of a non-airtight container. Screw top lids on glass jars are probably best.
If you prefer to use corks on glass jars, your incense will remain fairly fresh, but keep in mind that the cork will breathe, and it could let moisture into the jar just as easily as let out. If too much moisture is let into the incense, it will take on a life of its own. This can be avoided by waxing the cork. Finally, the sun can bleach not only the color of the incense, but also its very essence. So it is best to store incense in a cool, dry, dark place.
